Thanks so much for taking the time to learn more about me. Seeking therapy isn’t easy and I’ll do my best to make the process as straight-forward as possible. I have a specialization in sex therapy and enjoy working with individuals on topics such as identity growth and healing from past hurts. I also enjoy helping couples address issues with communication, conflict resolution, and sexual intimacy. I don’t only see clients seeking sex therapy- I also meet with college-aged and young adults dealing with life transitions, relational investment, and identity formation. I am familiar with issues surrounding adoption and parenting and love working with individuals and families in this capacity. I really do consider it a privilege to walk through hard things with people and do not take this privilege lightly. I’ll do all I can to support, encourage, and challenge you in the direction you want to go.
So what’s next? Basically you can contact me to set up an initial appointment. We’ll meet and you can begin to get a feel for who I am and how we could work together. I don’t consider myself an “expert” who gives advice, but rather an unbiased 3rd party that can collaborate with you to identify goals and work toward them together. Sometimes when you’re feeling stuck this outside perspective can be so helpful in shifting things around to find what matters. We’ll work together and I’ll check in from time to time to make sure we’re still on the same page and working toward the same end goal- for example: healing in relationships, overall peace with yourself and in your life, or tools to cope with and grow in your current situation.
I do my best to understand your unique relational, emotional, and spiritual context and to meet you there. I’m happy to answer any questions you may have about this process or about therapy in general. Thanks again for learning more about me. I look forward to learning more about you, too.
