If you have been frustrated, sad, lonely, or angry and can’t quite figure out why or what needs to change, I’m glad you are looking for help. My name is Laura Knorr, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, which means that my graduate training specialized in understanding and treating relationships. Whether you are in a state of relational distress, wanting prevention for your future marriage, or just wanting a “tune up,” I am here to guide you to having more fulfilling relationships, including improving your own relationship with yourself. It is my hope to provide you with a safe space to look inward and begin working through your difficulties at hand.
I received my undergraduate degree from UGA and decided to attend Purdue University’s Master’s program in Marriage and Family Therapy when I fully realized my passion for healing. The readings, classes, teaching, and clients inspired me, and I began to see the world through a new lens.
Over the years I have worked in both group private practice and social service agency settings while honing my therapeutic skills. My experience includes helping clients facing a multitude of issues ranging from anxiety, grief, and infertility to blended family issues, affair recovery, and family conflict. I am thankful to have found Atlanta Counseling Center in 2013 and to work alongside colleagues I trust and can collaborate with. I am incredibly humbled by the many clients who have allowed me to be a part of their healing journeys.
I am happy to answer questions that you may have to ease any anxieties about the therapy process before scheduling an initial meeting. I look forward to speaking with you soon!
