I’m so glad you are reading this and considering counseling. When you begin the journey of therapy, you are essentially putting pen to paper, maybe for the first time, to express the unfinished story of who you are. And you are taking a very brave step. Coming alongside you on your journey is an honor and a privilege.
I am a lifelong lover of stories. After majoring in English Literature at UGA and then pursuing my degree in counseling, I came to see that my love of story and my passion for counseling are rooted in the same desire to enter deeply into the human heart. Your story, like all human stories,is probably filled with moments of pain, disappointment, courage, and kindness. I would love to explore those moments and themes with you in order to work toward healing, hope, and ownership of your story.
I have been counseling in private practice for the past six years and I absolutely love it. I enjoy working with young adults, college students, adolescents and children (ages 8 and up). My areas of interest include life transitions, trauma, work with shame and self-doubt, grief, identity work, anxiety, depression, and self-esteem. Transformation is possible when we begin the hard work of offering ourselves kindness where before we have received only shaming and rejection.
If you would like to learn more about counseling, please do not hesitate to contact me. I wish you hope and healing on your journey.
